What happens during a dental hygiene appointment? 💫
1. Firstly, your hygienist will check your teeth and gums, looking for plaque build-up, tartar/calculus, bleeding, inflammation and signs of gum disease.
2. Next, they’ll use professional cleaning techniques to remove deposits that you can`t effectively remove at home, which if left untreated can lead to tartar, decay and gum disease.
3. To finish, they’ll polish your teeth using air polishing to gently remove surface staining caused by things such as coffee, tea, red wine or smoking.
